'Queen of the Skies' RAF Vickers VC10s are now retired after 47 years service

Images from Dunsfold Park EGTD Aerodrome of RAF Vickers VC10 K3 ZA150/J [cn.885]

The VC10 approached Rwy 07 at Dunsfold Park EGTD Aerodrome Surry in good weather from RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire. She made a perfect landing then slowed to a standstill at the end of the Rwy. The Flight Crew where greeted by Penelope Keith CBE, officiating as the Trustee for Brooklands Museum. ZA150/J was the last to be built out of 54 at the Vickers factory at Brooklands in Weybridge in the 1960s. ZA150/J was originally built as 5H-MOG for East African Airways, she made her first flight as an RAF Tanker in 1986. ZA150/J will be on display to the public at Dunsfold, in the county she was built. The sight of the VC10s and the sound of the Rolls Royce Conway engines will be sadley missed by many.
